Journey To Wholeness

Stop Running From God

Do you feel like God is tugging on your heart? Maybe you’ve tried to push God’s voice out of your head but you can’t anymore. In this video, I discuss the cost of running from God through the story of Jonah and my own experience running from God myself.

There are people attached to your obedience

We will use the story of Jonas to demonstrate how other people may be affected by our obedience. In this story, God intended to destroy the city of Nineveh. Jonah gets called by God so he can save those people through him. Jonas thinks the people aren't worthy of God's kindness, so he runs. Because Jonah decided to run, he put other people's lives at risk who knew nothing about his disobedience. Watch this video to see how this same thing can happen to us when we become disobedient.

Our issue with God is not the fact that we don't understand, our issue is that we refuse to submit.

Sometimes we are well aware of what God wants us to do, but because our emotions and our own way of thinking doesn't align with God, we choose to do things our own way. We often try to control God by telling him what to do or by asking him questions to ensure that we are aware of what is happening. This is not faith. When you truly trust in God, you won't need to know what's happening. The bible instructs us to walk by faith and not by sight.

Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him 1 John 2: 4-5 NIV
