The Secret to Resisting Same-Sex Temptation
When you give your life to Jesus Christ, you receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us to resist our flesh, which causes us to pursue our own selfish desires instead of God. The flesh directs us towards our own selfish desires and the Holy Spirit directs us toward God. The Holy Spirit is stronger than your flesh but you have to be willing to yield to him. You have to be the one to choose the Holy Spirit over your own desires.
What Happens When We Don't Yield to the Holy Spirit
We give in to our sinful nature
We leave room for the enemy to enter
The result?
Impurity
Fornication
Idolatry
Hostility
Jealousy
Lack of Peace
Quarreling
Drunkenness
Division
"The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to transform us so that we can follow the will of God. We cannot walk in the spirit and walk in the flesh at the same time. We can't serve two masters. "
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
